This was a freelance project for Keystone Garage, a diesel garage based in Pennsylvania. The owner approached me not knowing what he wanted. The owner wanted bold designs with bright masculine colors. In simple terms, he wanted a basic mechanic logo. After talking him for a bit, we decided that he needed to really brand himself. As a designer, I didn’t want to create something basic; so, while I did do what the owner wanted I really tried to make my designs a little edgier and current.
It all started with the logo. We went through multiple styles and options until I created this gear logo with the yellow and maroon color combo. It was clearly mechanical, but something that a normal person would associate with cars without feeling off-put or intimidated. From there, we were set to continue with the other deliverables. He needed letterhead, business cards, an invoice, and shirts. I also decided to create a possible layout for what the website could look like for when they decided to make one. It was important to create something that the owner would like, but also that his customers would appreciate and make them see Keystone as a garage that they would use again.
